We are excited to announce the African Activists for Climate Justice (AACJ) 3rd edition of the Global Coordination Meeting (GCM), set to take place from the 24th to the 26th of February 2025, at the Garden Court, Milpark Hotel in Johannesburg. This is a key event on the consortium’s calendar, which brings together key stakeholders, activists, and leaders from across Africa to reflect on the progress made through the AACJ Project and to chart a sustainable path forward.
Since its inception in 2021, the AACJ Project has made remarkable strides in advocating for climate justice across the continent. By harnessing African narratives and fostering collaboration between the Global South and North, AACJ has influenced policies at various levels and demonstrated the tangible benefits of locally led climate initiatives.
With the project now in its final implementation phase, the 2025 GCM will serve as a strategic platform to evaluate progress, showcase key milestones, and map a sustainability framework that ensures the lasting impact of AACJ’s efforts. The discussions will focus on data-driven insights, qualitative reflections, and policy influence strategies that will shape the next steps in climate justice advocacy.
